Architektur in Niederösterreich | 2010–2020

Volume 4 of the publication series “Architecture in Lower Austria”, initiated by the renowned architecture critic Walter Zschokke, publishes expamples of high-quality architecture in Lower Austria, created between 2010 and 2020.
Hundreds of selected projects, described by means of text, images and plans, bear witness to the diversity and quality of building culture in the seven categories of living, education, culture/sacred buildings, leisure/tourism, trade/commerce, health and public buildings.
While contemporary architecture used to be almost invisible in the four parts of Lower Austria, a very lively architectural landscape has emerged. The architectural breakthrough at the end of the 1980s has continued and has produced remarkable results, especially in the sector of buildnigs for education and culture as well as in public infrastructure buildings, as a detailed essay by Gabriele Kaiser and Franziska Leeb describes.
In addition to documenting, the aim of this book is to inspire, motivate and convince decision-makers and house builders of the value of good architecture in the entire typological range.
